Hello everyone,

I would like to share my floor plan with you to optimize it a bit more. We are already quite far along in the planning and are basically satisfied. However, we can still make minor changes without any problems.

Maybe briefly about us: family with two children (2 and 4). I work full-time without home office, and my wife currently does not, but plans to work part-time in the home office again in 1-2 years.

Essentially, my concern is the planning of the windows and the design of the bedroom and bathroom.
Regarding the windows, we are wondering if there are unnecessarily many and if we have driven the costs very high because of them.

Children’s room:
Do we still need windows facing east/west? Probably a subjective question, but I am happy to hear opinions.

Bedroom:
Are windows facing north or west unnecessary? Alternatively, it might be possible to shift the partition wall so that the window in the dressing room also provides light to the bedroom.

Bathroom:
Here I wonder if the layout can still be improved, for example with a T-solution? And here we have the dilemma with the extra window by the toilet, primarily for ventilation. The window above the bathtub is not ideal to reach for ventilation.

Feel free to also add general comments if anything seems generally unfavorable.

And here is the ground floor. Unfortunately, I can no longer add this to the first post.

Thank you for the note. All good things come in threes. Here is the real ground floor.

In principle, too many windows are not necessarily a bad thing.

Upstairs you have floor-to-ceiling windows in the children's room, I find it very, very annoying in our house. In summer, because of the shading, so the room doesn’t overheat, we always have to close them completely. Placing furniture - desk - is also difficult.
The staircase with 16 steps is also quite steep here; maybe consider a half-landing, it would do the bathroom and the ground floor good.

On the ground floor, the wall facing south definitely has two windows too many. Even though the window seat is cool, it steals space; try placing a dining table there, which is completely missing, but please with the correct dimensions.
In the utility room, which is already so small, the window is also a nuisance, especially if the carport is there, there isn’t much light. I guess you want to use it as a door? Keep in mind that this is the perfect spot for a break-in.

OG: I find the toilet drain in the thin wall 75cm beside the head of the bedroom bed unfortunate. Pay attention to specially insulated downpipes.
