We have the crazy idea of integrating an additional shower right in the middle of the bedroom. This way, the parents can shower in the morning independently of the kids (especially when they are in puberty). Also, in the evening, you can quickly brush your teeth and fall into bed within three steps.

What are your opinions and expert information on this? Since we are planning a central ventilation system, moisture should not be a problem - or is it?

Attached is a sketch of our upper floor – the bedroom with shower is located at the top right.

Bizarre - it is now no longer uncommon to have both a children's and a special parents' bathroom on the upper floor. I have also often seen the parents' bathroom combined with the dressing room as a passage to the bedroom. However, each room was recognizable as such. In your case, it looks like in a worse hotel I once stayed at, where a retrofitted shower stood in the corner... By the way, my ventilation system needs about two hours to suck the steam out of the bathroom again. I wouldn't want to sleep in it. All in all... a bedroom should also be a bit cooler - which is why I would definitely not want to shower in it even less... But tastes vary. Also think about the wastewater disposal and pipe lengths if you consider defining additional bathrooms. One more thought about the staircase: forget the curve and make a properly walkable landing staircase. In my opinion, the current floor plan allows for this. Regards ks

The climate in the bedroom and bathroom contradicts me. In the morning, first get out of the bedroom mustiness into the fresh and above all warm bathroom. In the evening, then from the nicely warm bathroom into the fresh, cool, and no longer damp bedroom. Otherwise, of course, it has something going for it - something special purely in terms of style. I once had a glass wall between the shower and the bedroom in a hotel. If only I hadn't been there alone ; )
