Hi,

I am currently planning to build a new house on our property and then demolish the old house. Now my question: Can I take my current heating system, which is 7.5 years old, to the new house? I mean of course only the boiler with instantaneous water heater - the pipes and radiators are also only about that old, but... hmm. Is it worth it? How long do gas boilers usually last on average with regular maintenance?

Thanks Bromi

Hello,
In principle yes, provided the Energy Saving Ordinance or Kfw certification allows it. It must be a gas condensing boiler and above all, the performance data must fit. However, this is very likely not to be the case. Adjustments may then be necessary. So it should be checked. Good boilers can certainly last 15..22 years.
