Good morning everyone,
my girlfriend and I are currently in the process of buying a prefabricated Okal house from 1979.
The asbestos used has already been professionally removed by a company.
Now the question arises about the interior, as the walls and ceilings were built with chipboard panels.
A recent indoor air quality test was conducted, which states:
All measured values are in the green zone except for the formaldehyde exposure.
The legal limit here is 124µg/m³ and the measured value is at 270µg/m³].
My girlfriend has now obtained an offer from the company that also removed the asbestos in 2007.
This is about €50,000 and includes that all walls and ceilings will be treated with drywall panels and an aluminum sealant (a kind of foil).
Does anyone have experience with these values?
Is it necessary to do something on this scale?
Is it not possible to just remove the wallpaper, apply a sealing paint, and then put on new wallpaper or paint?
