Hello everyone,

At the moment, it is not easy to get a decent craftsman, but I have finally received an offer for two washbasin cabinets. However, since I lack a comparison, I cannot assess the offer at all. We are looking for two base cabinets made of reclaimed wood; I was offered base cabinets made from about 200-year-old farmhouse floorboards.
ME surcharge to item 1 for: ==================
Washbasin cabinet 1000mm wide (bathroom basement), surface made of knotty oak, solid wood brushed and sealed with natural wood effect lacquer
The total price for two washbasin base cabinets amounts to €3678.00 (reclaimed wood!!) plus assembly and 16% VAT (from July 1)
Assembly costs €322 per washbasin additionally!
Personally, I find the price, to put it mildly, ambitious! But I cannot assess whether the price is realistic and whether it makes sense to get further offers or if it is actually a bit overpriced!
As mentioned, the problem is getting any offer at all; this was the first of four attempts in the last three months!
Thank you very much for your assessment
Saludos and have a nice weekend

These are absolute uniques made from special wood. You will hardly find comparison prices, but high-quality bathroom furniture also has its price in the bathroom shop. At least it doesn't sound exaggerated now.

At first glance quite a lot, but that might be put into perspective when you roughly calculate working hours / effort and material price.

About €1550 net per table

Material price for old floorboards quickly around €200 per m²
High-quality fittings. Plus the time expenditure (handwork)
of the carpenter with 15-20 hours per table is not unrealistic. Then it would roughly fit.

You get what you pay for

First of all, thank you very much for the assessment, I already knew it was something special, but 5k all in made me think for a moment. I might receive a similar offer from a second carpenter soon, then I will see how to proceed! Thank you very much and have a nice weekend

We paid about 2,500 for our handmade carpenter furniture after a very long search ... large base cabinet master bathroom plus a tall cabinet and about 1 m base cabinet guest bathroom ... corpus is MDF but the fronts are real oak wood and the top of the washbasin in the master bathroom is also real wood...

But we also had offers in the city where a single cabinet was supposed to cost 3,000 ... so we went far out into the countryside on a recommendation ...
Delivery and assembly total then 300 euros but we did both ourselves, both simple ...
