Hello,

I have a legal question about subletting:

I would like to temporarily sublet a furnished room in our house (for 3-4 months). We are renting the house ourselves, and the landlord agrees to a sublease.

Now I'm wondering if the same notice periods apply as with a regular rental, so 3 months? I have heard that the notice period changes simply because it is a limited rental and it is a furnished room. Does anyone know more about this??

Fixed-term rental agreement? Then the rental contract simply expires... The legal basis for this can be found in [Baugesetzbuch § 575], so that the contract can be properly concluded.

So, the sublease agreement is supposed to be limited in time, six months. That means, no matter what happens, I cannot terminate the person before the 6 months are up in case of doubt? I just never did that before and I'm a bit scared that we won’t understand each other or that rules won’t be followed etc.
