Hello,

searching in the Cologne metropolitan area for a turnkey construction company is proving to be extremely difficult. It’s not that there are no providers, but those found so far do not meet our expectations and do not deviate from their standard services.

The main problem is that all of them work exclusively with aerated concrete.
However, we want a classic wall made of [Kalksandstein] + insulation + clinker.
The reason is the sound values, the practical handling of hanging objects, and the room climate.
Can someone recommend a company for [PLZ 50] that also builds with [Kalksandstein] and plans freely.

THANK YOU

...what does it mean "dran hängt," you hardly read problems with KS but horror stories about aerated concrete. I want to spare us that.... I have spent the last two weeks doing nothing but dealing with wall constructions... and somehow everything just goes in circles. One says this, the other says that.. but who am I telling this here

Hello,

Sand-lime brick has an exceptionally good sound insulation, but catastrophic thermal insulation properties - so you definitely need insulation.

The "horror stories" on the internet regarding aerated concrete are homemade, not to say spread by the competition; I know quite a few of them and can refute them all because they belong to the realm of myths. But since you want to build with a double shell anyway, it really doesn't matter which stone forms the inner shell, because the insulation and the brick veneer compensate for the negative aspects ;)

There is no cure-all solution; you won’t get that with sand-lime brick either; every stone has advantages and disadvantages and in the end, it always depends on the overall concept.

Rhenish greetings

Well, if there were an aerated concrete block with which I cannot hear someone going to the toilet in the next room or cannot properly mount things on the wall indoors with normal wall thickness, then I would reconsider. Besides, sand-lime brick does have good heat storage properties and tends to have cooling effects in summer. Aerated concrete has neither of these, or correct me if I'm wrong, and also has problems with moisture...

Please just tell me your choice without any specific discussion and without judgment

1. Sand-lime brick 24cm + 12cm insulation + clinker
2. Aerated concrete 24cm + 12cm insulation + clinker

Oh dear... now everything is going in circles again... ;)
