New heating technology instead of a 13-year-old oil central heating system?

Hello,
in our 13-year-old house, the oil central heating is slowly giving up. Last winter we already had problems. The heating kept breaking down and the heating technician only made temporary repairs and prepared us that it wouldn’t last much longer. We have been considering switching to another heating technology for some time now. Can anyone recommend something or give me a tip?

Wow, replacing the oil heating system after 13 years already. Did the patching heating engineer install this heating system for you? Then you might want to look for another specialist. The alternatives are replacing the oil burner or switching to a pellet stove or wood gasifier, etc. A stove with wood gasifier technology is interesting if you have a cheap wood source. Pellet is currently about 20% cheaper than oil, with the same energy output. However, switching to wood heating systems also involves high investment costs. :( The mentioned wood heating systems are CO2-neutral and use renewable fuels. ;) Do you want to carry out energy refurbishment measures (insulation of the building envelope or replacement of windows, etc.) now or in the next few years? Regards T.H.
