Have you heard about the new glass break sensors that have now received the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) certification? These sensors are specially designed for installation on windows and offer a wireless and energy-efficient way to monitor the condition of the glass. With this certification, they promise not only enhanced security but also easier integration into smart home systems. The sensors reliably detect glass breakage and send immediate alerts to connected devices. Do you think such sensors could really improve the security standard in our homes and are they a worthwhile investment?

I have window contacts with vibration detection. Since during vacation they interpreted a gust of wind as a break-in attempt, they are set to low sensitivity... but they should still recognize an attack on the glass. So why an additional sensor for glass breakage? Just to change a few more batteries every few years? The window contact is needed anyway, and attacks on the glass, in terms of glass breakage, are rather rare according to the police.
