Hello,

I have the following question:

What procedure is common nowadays for a new building? I have, as often, asked 2 people and received 3 opinions ;-)

So either bitumen primer, bitumen thick coat, insulation, and then the [Noppenbahn]

or

cement plaster, bitumen coating, insulation, and then the [Noppenbahn]?

Basically, it's just about whether I should plaster the masonry beforehand and then only apply bitumen coating or skip the plaster and replace it with the thick coat?
What is better/more cost-effective?

Thank you very much

What for the plaster? I would take the 1st option...

In my opinion, neither variant is quite optimal.

Since I am currently working on a construction site where we are doing the building waterproofing, I would recommend the following variant:

- Primer on the bare masonry
- Waterproofing membrane (make sure it is two-part!)
- Seal penetrations (e.g. electricity, gas, telephone, etc.) with liquid plastic
- Insulation (2 layers to prevent thermal bridges at the joints)
- If necessary, the studded membrane if the insulation is not waterproof/water-repellent

If you want to be absolutely sure, you can also install capping strips at the top and bottom of the waterproofing membranes, which in my opinion makes little sense since the weight and pressure of the soil should prevent the membranes from sagging anyway.
