Hello everyone,

We have now been living in our house in a new development area with two new streets for 2 months, which was fully developed two years ago. Until now, the two streets were not listed anywhere, Google Maps did not know them, and in all contracts, I could not select the new street online nor was the entry accepted, as it was declared invalid. Even with our electricity supplier, who has the address as the delivery address in the contract, I could not enter the new address as the billing address; that only worked via the hotline.

So far, nothing too bad. But now I wanted to switch a mobile phone contract; the employee at the hotline says that as long as he does not have the address in the system, he cannot create a contract for it. Now it is getting annoying after all.

Who reports new streets to whom, and who should I contact to inquire about the status? Does anyone know this situation? After all, houses have been inhabited here for a year, and by now, about 10-12 families should be living here.

Thanks!

We had the same problem. We could only find accommodation at the pink giant.

The land registry office of the municipality / city should provide a solution here. Whether it goes quickly, I don’t know.

Most providers obtain their address directory from Deutsche Post. However, they are hardly ever updated daily. Neither by the respective provider nor by the post office itself. But they will be informed early enough.

Ultimately, only time heals all wounds. Insist on the address for as long as possible and provide a copy of the re-registered ID card.

At Google, you can by the way enter the change/addition yourself. The review usually takes 1-2 weeks.

The street directory is updated quarterly afaik.

As a workaround, the old address with a mail forwarding order could also work. Of course, this doesn’t help for a DSL connection at the new residence, but a mobile phone contract should not be a problem?!

Telekom is not an issue, that’s all possible. But mobile service didn’t work. O2 already wanted to charge me €1.39 for an address search because they noticed the move. Only I couldn’t change my address and you don’t get a phone hotline on the line...

I marked it on Google Maps last week.

It’s now been a year since the first one moved in...
