Hello everyone,
we really like Moroccan cement tiles and are considering laying them in the bathrooms and possibly in the hallway. Has anyone had any experience with them? We have two small children, so the floors need to be quite durable.
Thank you already for your advice,
Best regards, Roni

Yes, we have experience. If you don’t want to constantly clean and watch out, get them in the cement pattern in ceramic. They exist very nicely but not exactly the same.

We had cement tiles in the old house, the kids moved out and still we have "cement tiles" made of ceramic in the guest bathroom of the new house.

What they can’t withstand: Any form of acid (a sip of sour milk, splashes of orange juice, small spray droplets from bathroom cleaner). Care mistakes. But they can be sanded and polished. What they need: VERY good installation, normally in the thick-bed method, greasing, caring in, continuous care with a special soap, absolutely nothing else. What they bring: style and charisma to kneel down for, beautiful aging with patina.

However, in these (and other) countries there are also very nice glazed works in thick, rather small format, handmade and with a lot of spirit. You could find something at fischers lagerhaus or also if you maybe prefer it more European at replicata de. Both also offer paper catalogs. But going there is more enlightening.

Have fun!

A thousand thanks for your answers. That really helps us a lot. We have now also decided against cement tiles. And the Vives really look great. Which pattern did you decide on?
Best regards, Roni

Thank you for the compliment. The client is happy to hear that.

In the hallway, I went with the Palau Celeste and in the kitchen/dining room the Montaner Azul, each with a matching frame, exactly in the cement tile style.

Best regards

Robin
