First of all, a general hello!
I have decided, in the current time when it's best to stay at home, to reactivate the shower in our basement. It was in use until about 2 years ago but was leaking heavily from the concealed mixer tap (is that the correct term?). In the end, we found a position of the lever where it no longer leaked and left it like that.
Now I wanted to take a look at it and removed the lever, the plate behind it, as well as a chrome cover. I then wanted to unscrew the interior, but it is stuck so tightly that it has already become warped.
Is it even correct where I want to turn? At least there were contact surfaces for a 46 mm wrench. If I apply more force and the interior breaks... can I get a replacement quickly at a regular hardware store? The problem is that there is no separate shut-off valve for the shower and I have to turn off the water for the entire house.
I was hoping to simply get the part out, put it in a descaling solution, and replace any visible seals. But as I said, I can't even get it out. Do you perhaps have any tips?
Best regards,
Thomas
