Hello,

there are no measurement points specified on our screed where the tiler can measure. What do you do in such a case? Who has to specify where knocking can be done? Me? The builder? The tiler???

Are there regulations that specify the position in the room? For example, more than 20cm away from the edge or something like that?

Thx

Fun

Hi,
well, for tiling the residual moisture in the screed must be measured. For that, something has to be knocked out of the screed to be able to check it. However, the tubes for the underfloor heating run under the screed, and you don’t want to damage them when knocking. That’s why there should probably be some markings in the screed that mark a spot where no tube runs for sure. Exactly these markings are not there, and we don’t know who will now tell us where knocking can be done. Who tells you that? Can you demand that?

The second interesting question is, at which point in the room do they have to be?

So probably no one will knock. If anything, someone will drill. The missing markings indicate that either

a) the person drilling knows exactly where no underfloor heating pipes are located.

or

b) the measurement of the residual moisture is simply omitted.

A sample must probably be chiseled out because drilling generates heat and thus the result would no longer be accurate.

The measurement cannot be omitted since the tiler assumes the warranty for his work, and he only does so if he has measured the screed.
