Hello everyone,
we have just ordered a roller shutter box from Roma for clinker brick. We have at the top 230 x 260 and at the bottom 270 x 290 (W) x (H). Can someone tell me how far my lintel must now be visible below the ring beam or when I stand in front of the window (inside)?
Now to my problem:
I informed my clinker bricklayer that our window installer recommended 32cm for the lintel. It has a slight curve, in the middle 30.5-31 and on the side 33cm - 34cm. Are there any problems in the middle if the lintel is only 30.5cm, since the Roma box is 29cm high, this should be enough, right?
An alternative mentioned is to have the lintel made one course lower, but then I am another 8cm deeper... That was my first concern :)
2nd question. Is it advisable to surround the windows from the outside with Styrodur / Jackodur (masonry 24cm pumice, 10 mineral wool, 11cm clinker)?
Thanks for your help,
