METOD Ikea kitchen cabinets, is hanging them on a rail safe?

Hi! I have a question for everyone who has already mounted the Metod kitchen cabinets from Ikea to the wall using the included rail: Is the suspension secure enough to fully load the cabinets with porcelain dishes??

The rail itself does not seem to be the problem, but rather the associated PLASTIC elements that you hook into the rail. These are only 3.5mm thick and are made of PLASTIC. The entire load-bearing capacity of the upper cabinet depends on these plastic elements.

What experiences have you had with this suspension method? Good, bad? I would be interested to know. Thanks!

Hello, the plastic parts do not bear any weight. They are only safety locks that prevent the cabinet from being lifted so that the bracket cannot come off the rail.

Thank you for your explanation! Aha, do you mean that you slide the metal brackets of the cabinet from the side over the rail? Then I can imagine that this represents a secure fastening method.

You hang the metal brackets from above into the rail. Only at the end, when the corpus is precisely aligned sideways, is the locking inserted.

The locking is not shown here, but it makes sense to have a look at everything.

Ok, I just discovered that you can hang the cabinet directly from the front over the rail. Thanks for the clarification! Have a nice day!
