Hi everyone,
now a question for the experts here:
We have water damage, see another thread. Now the question: what is actually the method of choice to measure the moisture level in the screed insulation?
When the measurement technician was here, I was in the office and my wife at home. She said later that he did not go down the walls (through the edge insulation strips) with any measuring probes and ultimately only measured with "a small box on the parquet and the tiles". On the phone they then told me something about "neutron measurement"!??
At first I thought, "cool, now they’re already turning your hut into the new final repository" so I quickly googled: Ok, it does appear to exist and is also advertised as a great method for moisture measurement.
But it really seems more like something for professionals and analyzing the measurement results is not easy.
What made me suspicious, though, was that he apparently only compared at a few spots and that was it. Whether there were water pipes or ventilation ducts in the screed insulation, he could not have known at the time, he only got the plans afterwards. Can you get valid results that way?
So: Is this now the normal method of choice and does it really work that easily and smoothly, or does it rather sound like someone who didn’t really know what they were doing?
Best regards,
Andreas
