Markus swivel chair replacement gas spring

Hello dear Ikea fans,

unfortunately, my swivel chair Markus broke, meaning the gas spring no longer works and keeps sinking. Since the 1-month warranty has already expired, Ikea in Dortmund showed no goodwill and supposedly cannot even order a spare part. As 169 euros is not exactly little money for me as a student, I wanted to ask if anyone knows where and if there is a suitable gas spring for the chair.
If someone still has the chair under warranty and is from the Ruhr area, they could also send me a private message.

But one thing I have learned from this whole story: When you buy an item for daily use, it's better to spend a little more and ask about spare parts beforehand

Hello, I had the same problem and was able to find a suitable replacement for "Markus" model year 2011 for €15.90

Unfortunately, the spare part is not available at Ikea.

The replacement is done similarly as described here.

You need a 500g hammer and a wooden block to knock the spring out of the foot.
Then you need a large 2-inch water pump pliers to turn the spring at the top end. 90° is enough because the tip is slightly conical.
