Luftig W400

hello out there,
I have had the LUFTIG W400 (dunstabzug) in my kitchen for quite some time now,
which never worked particularly well despite the exhaust pipe. only now someone told me that you can/must switch the motor from recirculation mode to exhaust mode!!??

a) is that true?
b) how does that work

There are extractor hoods where you can switch between recirculation and exhaust air, but that is not generally the case for every one. The LUFTIG HW 400 is already somewhat older, right? Possibly it is constructed differently than the current LUFTIG, which cannot be switched as the manual shows. It’s best to look in the supplied manual that you have filed.
