Hello everyone,
since this is quite specific, I am starting a new thread.
I have a Rotex HPSU 508/8KW heat pump. This good piece has a 500-liter storage tank and a solar preparation. The pipes are already laid for this in the attic.
As I already mentioned, I have a shed roof facing north. Therefore, I would like to attach the collectors directly to the facade, preferably flat, not angled, for aesthetic reasons.
Now, the heating engineer just told me that the solar system runs with normal water and not, like in other systems, with antifreeze, which does not freeze in winter.
I would then have to drain the system in winter. Also, only collectors from Rotex can be used for this.
Is that really the case?
I would like to use tube collectors, especially because of the vertical installation, but these apparently are not available from Rotex.
What do I do in winter if the sun does shine occasionally? Can it be filled briefly then?
It would be nice if someone who has such a system in operation could report.
Best regards
Tobi
