Hello dear forum participants,

we are looking for a solution to replace the ISO glass door between the living room (31 sqm) and the conservatory (30 sqm). Throughout the entire house, windows and doors from >Veka Topline AD, flush-mounted, color Oregon< with 1.1 glass have already been installed. As part of the living room renovation, the connecting door between the living room and conservatory is now to be replaced. The door to be replaced measures approximately 210x164 cm.

We have the following requirements in the corresponding order:

1. Thermal and acoustic separation of living room and conservatory as two separately usable rooms. For a difference of up to max. 10°/12°, climate class II-III must be met, correct?
2. Possibly large glass area to sufficiently illuminate the living room behind it.
3. Floor-level transition or a maximum of a "wheelchair accessible / barrier-free" threshold.
4. Visual matching to the double-winged and equally sized terrace door "Veka Topline AD" located in the same wall.
5. When the door is open (during the day on about 300 days), no door leaf should extend into the room or at least only one.

A lift-and-slide door or parallel sliding door that is mounted on the wall on the outside is excluded both on the living room and the conservatory side.

However, we can run a sliding door into the former exterior wall. A continuous lintel in this wall allows this with manageable effort. Is it possible to run a sliding door (lift-and-slide / parallel slide) into a wall cavity / hollow space, preferably with floor-level rails or barrier-free? Can climate class II or III be achieved with this?

Alternatively, a folding sliding door without or with a barrier-free threshold is also considered. The folding sliding door should have two leaves and be able to open to one side.

If neither of these options work, we will probably reluctantly fall back to a "normal" flush door.

Is a "cold enemy" integrated into the door or as a magnetic door seal on the floor a good alternative to a 2 cm old building threshold?

Many thanks for tips and advice on solving the problem

I am still looking... unfortunately I haven’t found anyone yet who wants to build me a barrier-free sliding door...

... is that really not possible?
