Hello everyone,

it's time for a new bed for the little one. He wishes for a loft bed, and we want to fulfill that for him as well. Now we have seen a few and are wondering if a slide on the bed could be dangerous or if one doesn't have to worry about that. The little one would certainly be very happy about it, but as a father, I am still very skeptical about it. How do you see it?

Best regards

How old is he? I actually think a loft bed from 6 years old is okay. Why not with a slide? However, it might soon become too "childish". A difficult balancing act. At least you can remove the slide.

I personally find a slide in the children's room very dangerous. The bed is simply for sleeping and not for playing, but of course everyone has to decide that for themselves.

Hi Perker, I think it depends on your little one. I believe a loft bed always carries a certain risk, with or without a slide. For my son, I made the loft bed high enough so he could sit up and read on top and play underneath. But since he was a very restless sleeper, I attached a beam to the ceiling and put a self-knotted net between the bed and the beam. That was safe and cool at the same time. The entrance was lockable so he couldn't fall through. After a short time, the ladder became uninteresting because it was easier to climb up the net :D. Unfortunately, there was one downside: my wife said if it has to be that high, I would have to make the bed in the future because she would not climb up there. Regards Mr. Rossi
