Hello,
I read that an external lightning protection system is only required from a building height of 20m. Ok, but since the weather is becoming more extreme, especially storms with severe thunderstorms, I ask myself, is the investment in a lightning protection system on the roof of a single-family house worthwhile? I read something about 800-1000€.
What are your experiences? How does the insurance view it if damage to devices occurs due to lightning strike?

We do not have explicit lightning protection. If lightning should strike (it doesn’t even have to be in the house, the neighborhood is sufficient), it is annoying, but there are insurances for that.

Ok. Do insurance companies differentiate in the regulation of lightning damage whether you have lightning protection or not?

No - statement from our insurance broker (he is my cousin). If anything, you should take care of internal and external lightning protection. However, your budget is by far not sufficient for that.
