Laundry chute - Hygiene? How to keep it clean

I find a laundry chute to avoid carrying "luggage" quite practical for everyday use. We don't have one because, due to the architecture, we don't have long distances anyway.

No, we just built "small." 1 room, 1 bathroom, 1 guest toilet, and 1 entrance with a washing machine and dryer. The eastern part of the building is inhabited by the "children," each with an apartment.

No idea how anyone comes up with the idea to dry the cupboard. The last bit of water needs the most electricity and is also the hottest.
