Hello everyone, after the painting work is completed, it's time to lay the tiles. I last laid tiles about 12 years ago. We have now decided on a tile 40x80x10 mm. Adhesive sopro Fliesenfest extra Flex grout sopro FL Schlüter movement profile dilex 10mm Can someone tell me which wedge system, tile cutter, possibly wet cutter, and other tools are recommended? It concerns about 120m2 floor and about 10m2 wall tiles in the bathroom. Both are the same tiles. Are the expansion profiles under the doors the ultimate solution? Thank you in advance. Regards Markus

So as a wedge system or tension straps, I can warmly recommend those from Karl Dahm. I cannot recommend wet cutting at that size (portrait format starts to vibrate). Proper planning of your installation composite is important, and beware that portrait formats cup.

I personally don't like wedge systems. However, the swivel tension lugs are great – and there are much cheaper providers than Dahm. Since the tiles are not particularly large, a proper, classic tile cutter is sufficient (rent or buy – starting at around €300, then you get a decent tile cutter). Also a grinder. That's it, basically. Otherwise, invest enough time in the laying plan. It should result in a reasonable pattern.
