Hello, I have a question, who knows approximately how much it costs to lay large-format floor tiles: Specifically, it's about a floor tile of 80 x 80.

We have a price in our "package" for laying (not tiles!!) of 50 euros per sqm and are now supposed to pay an additional 30 euros per sqm for the larger format. That means without tiles we pay about 80 euros per sqm for the laying. Is that realistic?

I had expected around 60 euros, but 80 seems very high to me, or am I completely wrong?

Thank you, Hilaria

By parquet is meant, for a general contractor you have, for example, the bathrooms with 40x40 with a material value of €25 (or whatever) included? I can't tell you anything about the installation prices, but you can just go to the local tiler and ask. But have you ever held such a tile in your hand? It’s really heavy, and the cutting work becomes extremely demanding.

Do you mean package? So, the 50 euros do not include tiles, that is purely the laying work + adhesive, so the tiles are extra. The standard includes 40x40 tiles to be laid. Of course, the tiles are heavy, of course that costs an extra charge, but not another 30 euros? That means we pay 80 euros per sqm for it... If you calculate that as an hourly wage, basically 1 sqm is laid per hour... so I find that very much. The inquiry with the local tiler resulted in a price of 35 euros for "normal" sizes + max 15 euros for oversized tiles. Unfortunately, the tiler engaged by the BU is not interested in that...

Hello! At least this is a consistently continued calculation. If the 50 euros consist of labor and material (glue, silicone, joint mortar) in a ratio of 30 to 20, that is already quite cheap and only takes into account the further 30 euros/sqm for the additional man. If the contractor now comes up with the idea that he has a lot to do with an 80 tile in the area of outside corners, etc....... There is little to say about appropriateness - in a large room that is easy money. In a small, awkward room he then loses out. Oh yes, regarding the alternative offer - I know these statements too. That is 35 euros plus ........ plus priming, plus filling, plus sanding, plus border, plus diagonal installation, plus plus plus. Best regards, Tomtom.
