Hello everyone,

my targeted plot of land was surveyed and stakes were placed at every corner.
After the purchase, I went back to the property, and now there are no stakes left. Someone has pulled them all out. Possibly children, since there is a playground right next to it.
I bought the land from the city. A request for a new survey was declined for cost reasons.
Now the questions. How can I best survey the land myself? How to mark it best? How is this usually done in construction surveying? How are the boundaries ultimately marked?

Best regards

I also had stakes in place. However, they were meant so that excavator operators, etc. can immediately recognize where the boundary stones are. Actually, the boundary stones should be right next to the stakes for you as well. Because what really counts are the boundary stones.

Unfortunately, there are no boundary stones, at least I haven't found any.

I will probably arm myself with a long measuring tape and measure it myself.
Is there a trick to laying out a right angle?

In the end, the property will probably have to be officially surveyed anyway. It doesn't matter at all if you run around there with a tape measure.

What does officially mean? Does the surveyor do that for the house? Does he also set boundary stones? I just wanted to roughly measure first for a soil report, so they roughly know where and how the house will be located.

Often there are reference markers (such as [zB Gullydeckel]), with these and the site plan, the surveyor and the geologist can then also make use of them.
