Kitchen planning

Good evening,

I would like to gather some more opinions regarding our following planned overall kitchen concept:

[*]Floor: country house planks in oak

[*]Kitchen: Leicht

[*]Model: Avance

[*]Kitchen island: in concrete

[*]tall cabinets and board: White Tocco

[*]countertop in ceramic (dark)

Attached I have:

[*]Pictures of our floor plan (north is to the right, and east at the bottom of the document)

[*]Pictures of a showroom kitchen in our desired concrete surface to show the individual surfaces (see also LEICHT homepage, --> I hope this is allowed)

[*]the representation of our planned kitchen in various perspectives

Changes:

[*]Windows: The representation of our kitchen still shows the old version of the windows. New will be – as visible on the floor plan – a large floor-to-ceiling window in front at the height of the kitchen island.

[*]Tall cabinets: Currently, 3 tall cabinets framed with a wooden shelf can be seen. We want to switch to 4 tall cabinets without wooden shelf and place 2 appliances in the two middle cabinets.

[*]Wall color tall cabinets: We assume that gray would probably fit better instead of red (see gray wall color in the showroom kitchen).

Currently, I am still critical of the following points:

[*]Unfortunately, the kitchen island is mostly only visible from the narrow side from the living room.

[*]Does the color combination fit? We also considered making the kitchen island in White Tocco. However, that might be overall too much white in the kitchen, which could seem a bit sterile or cold.

[*]Oak counter on the kitchen island; does that bother in reality or does it make sense?

I would be happy to receive some constructive feedback.

Only for the built-in bar: Many people want that, but practice says something completely different - it is not used, but rather a romantic idea.

That’s what my uncle, who is a kitchen builder, tells me - he has already asked many who have implemented it despite concerns - and everyone said they would not plan it again.

It also looks quite tight in your place - but that can be misleading.

I also find it very cramped.

It would also be a bit annoying for me to always clean up the sink and around it before I can eat something in the corner. When I do something in the kitchen, it is a bit "disorganized" around the sink, but maybe it is different with you ...

For a bar stool, the space is more than sufficient. I also found it a bit cramped - whether someone can still pass behind the seat; however, people regularly like to sit with their backs to the wall.

For a somewhat comfortable meal, I lacked legroom there. In my old kitchen, I had something similar but 20cm more space for the legs, yet it was still not comfortable for long periods, at most for a mini snack or so.

Somehow I still don't like the layout of the kitchen. It currently feels a bit uncomfortable.
