Hello,
on Friday I had an IKEA METOD VOXTORP high-gloss light beige kitchen installed. Everything worked except for the dishwasher (Siemens SX778X16TE). At IKEA (kitchen planning) I was only told to pay attention to a sliding hinge if I install a third-party dishwasher. Therefore, after reading various forum threads, I bought the above dishwasher. The dishwasher front consists of 2 panels, 60x40 cm, which are connected by an IKEA metal rail. Now this metal rail is exactly where the dishwasher mounts should be and is about 5mm thick. If you offset it, the mounts of the Vario hinge would not fit either because of the thickness of the metal rail. Routing the hinges is also not possible because it is a handleless front and the top last 4 cm of the front is only 5mm thick as well. The kitchen installer said the only thing he could think of was to screw a furniture back panel with a thickness of 3-5mm onto the two panels so that both parts are flush connected. If this does not work, only a single front would be possible. However, that would ruin the overall front appearance. Does anyone maybe have an idea how to install the split front with Vario hinge? I am attaching photos.
Thanks and regards
Lars
