Key for the front door during the construction phase

Hello,

how do you handle your house keys during the construction phase?
So far, the key for the construction door was always kept in a fixed place.
Now that we have our front door, I actually don’t want to do that anymore, especially for protection against unauthorized copies...
However, it is also difficult to impossible for me to always bring the key to the construction site. And since different tradespeople are currently working in the house, I can’t just give the key to one of them...

I was already thinking about some kind of key safe to at least have a bit of protection.
Ideally, I would prefer a safe with some kind of data logger so that I know who was in the house and when (also to possibly trace any damage in the house).
Does anyone have experience with this? Is there maybe such a thing available for rent for 5-6 weeks?

The cylinder from the construction lock remained with us and was only replaced at the house acceptance.

Exactly, put in a cheap lock. We had 3 keys for it. One for us, one for the construction supervisor, and the 3rd stayed on site for quite a long time - until the staircase was installed (it came very late), then I didn’t want that anymore, also because of the insurance. This one was then alternately held by the plumber and the electrician, because they had the most work and were on site the longest.

Same with us. During the construction phase, every trade from the general contractor had a master key. Only at house handover did we get a "real" lock with three keys for us.
