Joy! Birds are nesting on the property

Before our move to the row of garden houses, we already enjoyed watching nesting birds, such as blackbirds, pigeons, and a dunnock. Today, we saw in the wooded area at the back of the property that a pair of kites have settled on an old beech tree to nest, and we are thrilled about it. With my camera equipment, it is too far away for photos, and I don’t want to disturb them either. I think I will borrow a big telephoto lens when the young birds (hopefully) are there.

Great! Unfortunately, we don't have any birds with nests yet because the hedge is simply still too scrawny for that... another 1-2 years of patience (which is really hard for me in the garden right now)

A cat only catches sick birds... or careless young ones. We have a very good hunter next door, I see him 99% of the time with field mice.
