Hello,
we are building a single-family house on a slight slope with a residential basement. Our shell construction company traditionally shuttered the walls and wanted to insert the 100mm styrofoam insulation immediately and pour with waterproof concrete. My construction expert then intervened and said that there is no moisture protection because the insulation (including wall protection and dimpled foil) cannot be considered a water-repellent layer. Moreover, this execution does not comply with the relevant DIN standard.
Well, the styrofoam was removed from the formwork, the basement was poured, a KMB (bitumen thick coating) was applied, and the panels were installed.
Only: now this KMB is being charged to us as a separate item (about €2000).
Is this lawful?
Although the construction description does not mention any coating, it is state of the art that it is executed this way – does this really have to be paid for separately?
