Is wind brace tape necessary for a carport board roof?

Hello everyone, I am planning our carport 3.40m x 9.0m and have received different opinions from 2 carpenters regarding the [Windrispenband]...

I am planning a flat roof which is to be made of tongue-and-groove boards... the boards will be nailed lengthwise onto the rafters...

Is a [Windrispenband] necessary here or is the stiffening provided by the nailed boards sufficient?

Even cheaper...

It's actually more about the 4-5 mm I have at the diagonal overlap where there might possibly be a dent in the roof when nailing the boards?!
