Hello everyone,
my name is Markus, I am 28 years old and a relatively new homeowner. In November, we (my wife and I, as well as my sister and her husband) extended a bungalow with a prefabricated wooden structure.
Yesterday, after a long search, our wooden staircase was finally delivered and installed. However, I am wondering whether the installation was done 100% correctly.
It is a straight wooden staircase. It is attached on the left side to a wall (13 cm thick, so not load-bearing). It was fixed there in several places with 7 cm screws. The floor height is about 3 m. The bottom rests on the floor without any fastening. I’m attaching some pictures here.
Summary: the stringer is attached to the wall (13 cm thick) and apparently only rests on the intermediate floor ceiling. The foot of the staircase is relatively large. Is all this sufficient? Or will the staircase eventually give way?
Best regards from Cologne
