We have received a new window and sliding door to the balcony and suspect that the craftsman made a mistake. On the fixed window half, the glass does not cover the entire area inside the window frame, but instead, the glass pane is "extended" by a plastic strip about 6.5 cm wide.
The craftsman claims it has to be like this because the roller shutter is divided in the middle. However, it actually looks as if they mismeasured the window width and "extended" the missing glass area with the plastic strip.
Does anyone have experience with this? Could the craftsman be right, or did he "patch" it here?
The color of the plastic strip is still brown inside (first photo). The craftsman has already admitted here that this is still wrong and that he will insert a strip that is white on the inside.
