Hello,
I am considering buying a house built in 2010 with a special heating system. It is a so-called solar house. It is characterized by a thermally insulated 8000l water tank centrally located in the house. The tank is heated with solar thermal energy and is sufficient for large parts of the year to supply the house with hot water (e.g. underfloor heating).
However, parts of the pipes no longer look so good. You can see a picture attached below.
Unfortunately, I am not an expert, but could it be that it is soft soldered? Is that still state of the art?
It seems to have been leaking in the past. Is that normal in these quantities? Or could it be condensate? Would it be an option to replace this pipe? Replacing all pipes seems very complex to me.
What would you recommend?
Please provide constructive recommendations and a clear recommendation if, in your opinion, this is a bottomless pit and I better leave it alone.
Thank you, best regards
Janny
