Is decentralized ventilation with cross-counterflow heat exchanger still relevant?

Hello forum,

I want to install a decentralized ventilation system in my old apartment (60s, 3 rooms, 70 sqm). Since I am sensitive to clicking noises, I am hesitant to choose a pendulum fan. When researching online, cross counterflow heat exchangers seem to be the ideal solution (just a bit more expensive but I wouldn’t mind that). Unfortunately, I simply can’t find any current models. The only decentralized ventilation system with a cross counterflow heat exchanger that I find is the Vitovent 200-D. However, it seems to have been on the market forever and there are very mixed opinions about it online.

Can you recommend more recent models?

Best regards
Torsten

Then take a look at InnovaTech, Wolf, Zehnder - at least these manufacturers have current models that are not reversible. I am not allowed to post links...

Thank you. Above all, the Zehnder comfo Air 70 looks very interesting. Although it has been on the market for 6 years now. I am surprised that there are not more new models there.

It is such a primitive technology, there are no reasons for changes - except in the direction of Wi-Fi, integration of humidity control, or similar. But no changes in ventilation technology. It's like repainting a red Golf every two years, installing a new radio, and then selling it as a completely new car.
