Hello, since we are currently searching for house building companies, I would be interested to know if there is an office or a file that one can access to see whether the potential developer is not just about to become insolvent. Since we are considering building with a smaller construction company, I do not want to be the one to support the crash with one last financial injection. It is actually a pity that in Germany the size of cucumbers and the color of apples are regulated and must comply with an EU standard, but when something goes wrong in construction, where you pretty much put in everything you (and the bank) own, you are left to fend for yourself. A check would help to assess the financial situation of the company. Best regards, A.

Hi,

the possibility of a review is of course available, but it is not free. A company report from Creditreform or similar helps in this case.

Hello Häuslebauer 40,

I am gladly willing to pay money for that, because I would rather know in advance what to expect than be left empty-handed afterwards. Is this "Creditreform" a bank information service and where can I find such information companies? On the internet or can you also go there in person? Can you also be sure that what they say is true? What costs should one roughly plan for? Many thanks and best regards, A.

It’s available on the internet. In larger cities, they also have an office. Creditreform is a company that has been collecting company information, sales, figures, and balance sheets for decades and, as a result, calculates a creditworthiness index for the respective company. They also have their own debt collection department and thus gain access to additional data. There are several companies like this, such as Hoppenstedt, Bürgelauskunft, etc. I invested a hundred and obtained a company dossier from Creditreform.

hi,

great idea, valuable hint. Although that is no guarantee.... at least it is safer than knowing nothing at all. I will put it on my list right away so that I don’t forget when we finally have everything together and want to sign.

Regards Bromi

A first free point of reference is provided by the [unternehmensregister] (at least for company forms requiring registration (GmbH, UG ...))
