Is a carport an outbuilding or a garage?

Hello everyone,

we are currently also wondering whether a carport is considered an outbuilding. In other words, whether a carport also falls under §6 of our ordinance regarding the development plan.
So there is the possibility that the carport could also be built outside the building plot (buildable areas).

Attached is an excerpt from the development plan.

Maybe someone can definitely say something about that.

As far as I know, carports are considered outbuildings and would therefore fall under Paragraph 6. Whether there are exceptions depending on the federal state, you can probably check most easily in your [Landesbauordnung]. But I rather don't think so.

Depends on the federal state for sure. In Saxony, carports are garages.

The federal state is Bavaria.

Bavaria and Saxony are the same.

Bayern and Saxony are the same.

... just like a carport is a garage
