At the specialist dealer in Säckingen, I bought a mirrored cabinet for the new bathroom. Not a word from the seller about the electrical protection rating. When everything was finished, the electrician checked the whole thing: the mirrored cabinet with lighting, which hangs in the area 60cm next to the bathtub, must have protection rating IPx4. No indication from the manufacturer on the internet about the protection rating! After inquiry, the disappointing answer: protection rating insufficient.
Manufacturer and seller deny any responsibility – and now I have a mirrored cabinet where I have to disconnect the electrical supply. Neither manufacturer nor seller respond to my complaint. What rights does one have here as a buyer? Does the dealer have to take back the cabinet? For example, the cabinets: all are certified with IP24 and thus can be used anywhere in the bathroom.
Since the cabinet cost over 700 EUR, this is not a department store product and one could expect a certain minimum quality.
