Morning everyone,
which interior plaster would you recommend to me? We are building a brick house (Poroton S8) with 36.5 cm bricks without [WDVS]. We want to maintain a certain breathability. Therefore, the plaster should also be suitable for that.

Regards
Stephan

Ecological and breathable is, for example, clay plaster. We have it in our current bathroom and it is incredible how much odors and moisture the plaster can absorb (and also release during the day). I can only recommend it, but it is not exactly cheap. However, I cannot judge whether it makes sense for the whole house. At least for bathrooms and kitchens, it is very suitable.

If you want breathable walls, you have no choice but to drill holes. Everything else is not breathable, no matter what kind of plaster you apply there.

I had something like gypsum-cement plaster or lime-gypsum plaster in mind. But I am not familiar with that. Clay plaster is interesting. I need to ask about that.

Breathable...ok...some people don’t want to understand it, some people can’t understand it. If you can’t make a reasonable comment about it, then you should refrain from posting. Unless you want to boost your statistics.

By breathable I mean the difference of different types of plaster to absorb and release moisture (of course only in one direction, outward).

Sorry for my post. I couldn’t have known what YOU understand by that...

Great! Then I hope for you that the plasterers also apply it the right way round, so that the plaster doesn’t transport the moisture from outside to inside afterwards.

Good luck!
