Hello everyone I wanted to order the interior doors and have just taken the measurement of the rough opening. In height, I have (partly already with flooring) always about 203 cm. Actually, this should be a standard opening, meaning 201 cm rough dimension. However, with these values, I immediately fall into the special size category at Türenheld, which is 213 cm. How much leeway is there when installing the frame and the door? Will I really come up short if I order the standard size? According to Türenheld, the rough dimension would be 201 cm and the order size 198.5 cm. Additionally, all doors must have 1.5 - 2 cm clearance at the bottom anyway because of the ventilation system. Thank you very much in advance for your answers. Enrico

Get a carpenter who measures on site and makes the doors exactly to size.

You need to compare with the technical drawings of the door frames how much overlap area or clearance you have with the wall.

: There have to be people like you in every forum, right?
Those who don't know how to answer the question but suggest something completely different instead.
There is a reason why I want to install the doors myself. If I had the money to have it done by a carpenter, I would do it.

: According to the information from another supplier, I would have a cladding overlap of 4 cm with the standard frames/doors.
I guess I'll have to talk directly with Türenheld tomorrow to see what they say about that.
But if it's also 4 cm there, that should actually be enough, right?

We also installed our doors ourselves. To partially achieve the cheaper standard sizes, we sometimes tricked a bit and, for example, "doubled up" with drywall at the rough opening (ours were made of wood, since it is an old building). This is definitely worth considering if it’s really just a matter of a few centimeters. 1. you get cheaper doors this way, and 2. usually a much shorter delivery time than with custom sizes.

Installing is no rocket science either. Work calmly and especially cleanly, borrow these clamps from the hardware store, and be sure to hang the door leaf in while the foam hardens. Good luck!

You don't need 2cm for ventilation, don't do that nonsense, that's way too much. Please use an overflow opening.

How much does a door cost at Türenheld?
