Hello everyone,

in front of our garage, we have an electrical cable, to which a lamp might possibly be connected. At the moment, nothing is attached. There is a terminal block on the cable, which is wrapped with insulating tape. Unfortunately, we cannot take power from this cable, as among other things, the shower toilet is also connected to it.

Now the question: Is the insulation sufficient or do you recommend something else?

Regards,

Hi
I'm not an expert, but if the cable end is out of reach of tall people, that should be sufficient as touch protection. If it hangs lower, it should preferably end in, for example, a surface-mounted junction box, with appropriate cable fastenings as pull-out protection.

Regarding insulation against weather and short circuits, it depends on whether the cable end hangs in the rain or, for example, is sufficiently protected by a roof overhang. In case of doubt, the junction box is also the better option here.
