Actually, we had already decided to install oak country house floorboards in our house. The whole thing was supposed to be glued and cost about 45 euros per square meter. But now we have found an offer from a wholesaler who offers the same floorboards without gluing. The necessary hold is provided by a clip that is stretched between the wall and the floorboards. Overall, the whole thing would be significantly cheaper without the adhesive. Does anyone know such a glue-free clip system, is it recommended?

The clip systems are all very similar; in all of them, adjacent floorboards (so not only between wall and floor) are pressed together by the clips (i.e., in tongue and groove). However, the end sides of the floorboards are always glued, which is not a big effort.

Hello,

I have also completed that and have also installed country house floorboards with clips. That worked very well and the full-surface gluing was eliminated. As the previous writer mentioned, I glued the end faces of the country house floorboards. However, that was not a big job.

I didn't know that such country house floorboards don't have to be glued. So it works with these clamps as well. Now I have to look for instructions online.

Sure, everything is available on the internet, and you can also find instructions there. But I don't rely on that because often everyone writes something different. If you want to be sure, then contact the manufacturer. I did that too and was able to lay my country house floorboards wonderfully. All of this also with [brackets].

Thank you very much Richard. My husband has now also equipped these country house floorboards with clips. Only on the end face did he also use adhesive. However, our country house floorboards are made of solid wood. These clips are not visible, which I find good. We have screed as the subfloor, and that is also not a problem.
