Good morning everyone,

how do I best install spotlights in a ceiling if I do not want to work on/plaster the in-situ concrete afterward? We would like to keep the concrete visible in the hallway on the ground floor to maintain the rustic charm.

I was possibly thinking of the Kaiser Betonbau slab ceiling large box. Then fix it with nails on the formwork boards, put the cables in, and that's it. The spotlight to be installed should then fit inside and cover the box with the frame.

Regards, Daniel

I have placed and dimensioned every spotlight, every ventilation opening, etc., using sketches and have also noted the installation housings to be used. For the recessed spotlights, I use Kaiser installation housings for exposed concrete. For other openings, I have previously agreed on the exact core hole size to minimize retouching as much as possible.
Will it be a complete in-situ concrete ceiling, or do you have prefabricated elements that are poured on-site?

However, I think you won't be able to completely avoid retouching/cosmetics. At least, I am expecting that on my end. I can tell you more in 2 months.

Hello Daniel

I advise against nails. Make a template, mark the openings where the screws come in from below (I have my empty boxes from the hardware store, there are such openings), drill a 2mm hole through the formwork panels. Then from below use suitable screws (2.5 x 35) and fix the empty boxes. Tighten well and you will have a perfect edge.

Hello

here are 3 pictures of the empty box.
You can see the provisions for the screws with which I screw the box to the control panel.
Maybe one should take the spotlight with a slightly wider edge so that it completely covers the empty box.
And then the nameplate.
