Hello everyone,
directly in front of my apartment there is a construction site that will last for several more years. Now I am considering how to most effectively keep the noise outside. I had the idea to use the 10-15cm wide windowsill to have a second window installed, so that the sound is doubly prevented from entering.
It would basically be like a box window, where both windows can be opened inward. The function must of course remain so that it is possible to ventilate occasionally.
There are a total of four windows measuring 100x180cm. Since I of course still have to make the whole thing appealing to the landlord, I am also currently looking for offers for reasonable windows. For cost reasons, I would prefer plastic windows. I already found models (e.g. Euro70) with soundproof glass at 340€ each. I suppose the price is hard to undercut, right?
I am absolutely useless when it comes to craftsmanship. So it would have to be done by a craftsman. But I wanted to get your opinion in advance whether there are potential problems with my plan or things I should definitely consider.
It would be nice if you could give me some information on this :-)
