Inspection by the chimney sweep for new construction - who has to pay the chimney sweep?

We had our house built through construction supervision (contract for work with fixed price). Shortly after moving in, the chimney sweep came to approve the heating system and chimney. Now the construction supervision refuses to cover these costs. Heating and chimney are of course included in the contract for work. In our opinion, the approval simply belongs to the trade. Does the construction supervision have to bear the costs? How was it handled for you?

That depends on the contract design, who pays the chimney sweep; if this is not regulated in the contract, one has to consider: Is the house free of defects without acceptance of the chimney? I don’t think so, at least not with a "turnkey" agreement. Suggest that you share the fee; pursuing a legal dispute over these rather small costs is probably not the best solution.

In our case, that was included in the contract. But I also stumbled over this question because it was not included before. I then had it added, and that went without any problems.

If I remember correctly, this fee was included in the singing costs. That was also stated in the contract and it was fulfilled. This is also legally required and therefore it is part of an acceptance. Like the others as well.

With us, that was included in the total costs and was paid from them. We did not add anything on top of that. But that was also included in the contract.

That is of course also a contract arrangement. For me, that is part of the maintenance. I am therefore not willing to bear these costs.
