Induction cooker - Electrosmog

Hello everyone,

we are currently facing the decision in our kitchen planning whether to choose induction cooktop plates or a ceramic hob.

To my knowledge, the induction cooktop is more economical in terms of energy consumption. The purchase price is also not much higher anymore. Since until recently we were still convinced of the induction cooktop, I have already purchased some new pots suitable for induction. Such a replacement would probably have been made partially anyway – new house, new kitchen, new pots .

However, yesterday a colleague pointed out the issue of electromagnetic pollution, which is said to be stronger with an induction stove. Initial research on the internet also shows this problem – however, (as far as I have seen) no definitive studies seem to be available yet.

I am certainly not an environmentalist. I am also aware that one is exposed to this issue daily (phone, etc.). However, I try to avoid avoidable exposures for myself and my family (2 small children).

What experiences do you have with this topic? Have you perhaps found a study that deals specifically with this issue? What do you think?

For the radiation that is already present from telephone/mobile electricity circuits/high voltage lines etc., I wouldn’t worry about the hour you cook each day. Instead, I would rather think about what I cook (keyword organic).

You should worry about it about as much as you should worry when a truck carrying nuclear waste drives past you.

I consider the topic irrelevant. It can be further discussed if you also completely give up [Microwave] and [Wi-Fi router].
