I know that m's answer misses the point, but why should it be an [Indach-Anlage]? Actually, such a roof renovation is also ideal for a [Aufdachanlage].

IN-roof is just not so well ventilated, many say.. To what extent this has a negative impact - no idea?! In our case, the IN-roof solution certainly would not have paid off for the new building. It would have been almost 5000€ more expensive than the tile + ON-roof solution..

Appearance? - What do you want to hide? Do you look at your roof every day? I would argue that the reason is completely overrated. You get less performance for more money. You can do that if you have money to spare. But money usually belongs to the things you simply do not have left when planning a house. But well, I don't want to lecture or convert you, you can (and will) do it however you like.

My opinion, both for my system and for neighbors or in the area... neither do people look nor pay attention to whether it is mounted on the roof or integrated...

By the way, here is a photo of a somewhat older integrated system, discovered two weeks ago. Appearance... hm....

There won't be much ventilation with in-roof. This affects the efficiency of the system. Typically, the modules lose 4% efficiency per 10°C temperature increase. Ventilation helps to keep the temperature lower and thus generate more power.
Do you know PVGIS? With this tool for yield estimation, you can estimate the difference for your situation. However, in-roof is often so much more expensive that it is not financially worthwhile.

, of course I didn’t mean some self-soldered system, but something professional. Since we plan to renovate an older house and also bought it for aesthetic reasons, the appearance does matter to us, and roof-mounted systems simply look shabby. Since I had also read about technical problems with integrated roof systems, I wanted to ask around if anyone has experience with companies in my area. Whether the extra cost is justified can only be determined after a cost estimate, especially since we have to reroof the house anyway and slate is also expensive. Cheers Rajko
