I recently bought a few Ribba picture frames (size 25 x 25 cm) at Ikea because the square format with the mats exactly matches what I was looking for. However, I am having problems hanging the pictures: each frame comes with two metal loops that can be attached on the sides and through which a wire can be threaded; I managed to do this so far. But when I hang the wire on a nail, the picture tips away from the wall at the top, i.e. the bottom edge is touching the wall, but the picture is about 1.5 cm away from the wall at the top edge. I want the picture to lie flat against the wall. I have varied the position of the wire, but have not found a good solution. Does anyone here know this problem with hanging the Ribba and can give me a recommendation?

Best regards
Marc

Ouch.. You of course have to tension the wire almost completely flat with the back and clamp the two iron parts about in the upper third.. then fiddle a bit while hanging..

Even much easier is if you leave out the wire and hang only the upper edge on TWO nails.

Hello everyone!

I happened to land here via Google... I already have a 50x70 Ribba frame and I didn’t hang it using the wire, but directly attached it to the frame with a nail. That still works well here because the weight isn’t high and the frame is stable.

However, now I have bought a 70x100 Ribba and I don’t quite trust the wire. Would anyone hang that thing on a nail? Somehow I’m a bit old-fashioned when it comes to hanging picture frames. I still expect to find a hook on the back where I can hang the nail. I definitely don’t want to screw anything in, etc.

I don’t want to make it more complicated than it is, but I can understand that someone has trouble attaching the Ribba frame or rather with the conceptual execution beforehand.

Thanks for the answers!
